It’s so clearly portrayed in everything that you do.

Now the vision for that is to make sure that how to find ways to make money we can do that now with a broader brush with how to find ways to make money other schools as well. As you grow as an academy you have to make how to find ways to make money sure that excellence remains within the system. And that culture has to be within the governors. They need to know why they’re going out. Not going out so that they can get more money how to find ways to make money or anything because that isn’t the case anyway. We wanted as many people as we could to be how to find ways to make money part of that vision. So initially we looked at the workforce in the school how to find ways to make money and it was everybody. It was lunchtime time care assistants. It was the after school club supervisors. It was admin staff. It was the caretaker. It was teachers, teaching assistants. It was everybody who works in the school wanted to how to find ways to make money be part of that vision.

Obviously we’ve had to work with local authorities. We’ve worked with two local authorities, solihull and worcester. And some of that’s been positive, some of it has not been so positive as you how to find ways to make money would expect. But again its keeping them informed. Communicating and ensuring that after all they do have responsibility how to find ways to make money for those youngsters within their local authority. So trying to keep them engaged has been a challenge.

For us the key partners are our stakeholders. And our stakeholders are the young people. Their parents and carers are often a very difficult group how to find ways to make money to engage initially. And also very significantly our headteachers in mainstream schools. And so I’ve worked very closely with secondary headteachers in all three how to find ways to make money authorities to develop this vision.

Well our key partners were the seven school headteachers and how to find ways to make money the governors of the federation as we were then. And when the archdiocese of birmingham produced the articles of how to find ways to make money association which allowed us to convert to become an academy how to find ways to make money company we were in no doubt that it was the how to find ways to make money best way forward. And in fact the governors of the federated governing body how to find ways to make money and the schools at local level and the parents they how to find ways to make money had no doubt about the fact that it was the how to find ways to make money right way forward. We had absolutely no opposition at all to transferring to how to find ways to make money a multi-academy company.

Very early on what we did was lots of consultation how to find ways to make money in many, many different areas. How do you want your school to develop, etc. Etc. In us establishing our vision. So they could see real ownership and input into that, really important, including the students. I mean student voice is huge in all harris academies how to find ways to make money and all harris federations. So they took ownership for that. So that’s been well established and well set up.

So we wanted to bring it down to what really how to find ways to make money mattered which again was the children. So within the advantages and disadvantages we outlined our business how to find ways to make money case and the feedback that we received from parents, from governors and from staff and from professional associations as how to find ways to make money well who we met was that it clearly stated why how to find ways to make money we wanted to do it. We were aware of the potential pitfalls of what we how to find ways to make money were going to do. And that the advantages did outweigh any kind of disadvantages. And it was clear for all to see that it how to find ways to make money was the right move for us.

It’s about coming out of the local authority system. So we need to be sure that we are certainly how to find ways to make money guaranteeing the existing conditions, the terms and conditions, if not improved terms and conditions. And I think one of the exciting things about academy how to find ways to make money conversion is that it gives us the opportunity to perhaps how to find ways to make money offer better terms and conditions to staff.

There was a lot of speculation about changing job roles. Changing terms and conditions of employment. So the staff obviously were quite concerned about what would how to find ways to make money happen. And we sort of liaised with the unions in one how to find ways to make money way in terms of the TUPE process. Because that allows them to understand that we can’t change the terms and conditions unless we create any how to find ways to make money measures and we haven’t.

And they trust me. They know that that is what I would do. So the comeback to that was, OK, teresa you might not be the headteacher all the time, what if we get a headteacher in who has a how to find ways to make money different view? So the trust board sat with them and said as how to find ways to make money a trust board we could say to you this is how to find ways to make money our vision that we would not change the terms and how to find ways to make money conditions of anybody’s employment unless it benefits them and the school. And that alleviated that sort of fear and anxiety.

We then decided that the only way we could involve how to find ways to make money all the stakeholders in this process was to have a how to find ways to make money period of consultation. And that period of consultation lasted for four weeks. And within that period, what we did was to involve all the staff in how to find ways to make money a single meeting. The staff at each of the schools in meetings with how to find ways to make money the headteacher and with a member of the governing body.

We did an awful lot of trying to make sure how to find ways to make money that people had a chance to say how they really how to find ways to make money felt. So if they were worried about saying how they felt how to find ways to make money in a large forum that we were able to have how to find ways to make money smaller meetings. Or we encouraged people to meet. We didn’t set them up, we just said, look just meet, get together, talk about it. And if you’re not brave enough to come and say how you’re feeling or you’re worried about something then somebody else will.
